Message from the Rector

The Royal University of Phnom Penh stands as Cambodia's oldest and largest public university, widely recognized as the flagship institution for higher education in the nation.
Teaching & LearningAcademically proficient, socially responsible graduates
Research & InnovationLocally relevant, internationally significant
Social EngagementEquity, sustainability and culture

At the core of RUPP's mission is Teaching and Learning. The university offers high-quality education across a diverse array of disciplines, equipping graduates to be both academically proficient and socially responsible. Its programs prioritize critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability—skills that are vital for navigating the challenges of a rapidly evolving society.

Research and Innovation constitute the second pillar of RUPP's mission. As a center for intellectual exploration, the university promotes research that tackles national challenges while also contributing to global knowledge — from environmental studies to technological advancements — producing solutions that are relevant locally yet significant on an international scale.

Social Engagement rounds out the triad of RUPP's mission. The university actively collaborates with communities to promote equity, sustainability, and the preservation of culture. Through outreach initiatives, partnerships, and service-learning opportunities, RUPP fortifies the connection between academia and society.

RUPP works closely with the Royal Government and industries to align its academic and research priorities with national development strategies, ensuring graduates are equipped with practical skills and that research supports Cambodia's socio-economic growth.

Equally significant is RUPP's dedication to internationalization. Through partnerships with universities and research institutions around the world, faculty exchanges, collaborative projects and scholarships, RUPP equips students to succeed in a globalized economy while aiding Cambodia's integration into the ASEAN and international academic communities.
